Yield: makes about 36 dessert bars
1/2 cup of margarine or butter
1 & 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
1 (7 oz package) of flaked coconut (2 & 2/3 cups)
1 (14 oz can) of sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1 (12 oz package) of semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 13×9 inch baking pan, melt the margarine or butter in the oven. Remove & sprinkle graham cracker crumbs evenly over the margarine. Top evenly with coconut and then the sweetened condensed milk. Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
In a small saucepan (over low heat) melt the chocolate chips and then add the peanut butter. Spread evenly over the hot coconut layer. Let cool for 30 minutes. Chill, cut into bars & serve at room temp.
