The Downside to Factory Food

by Fallywalker on August 26, 2009

Time Magazine : The Real Cost of Cheap FoodRunning thru the grocery store today to stock up on my latest addiction, I made an impulse buy at the checkout. Time Magazine‘s cover story is “The Real Cost of Cheap Food,” which exposes the inherent problems with factory farming that affect all of us.

Also playing at the State Theatre is Food, Inc. The topic is the same: “Food, Inc. reveals surprising and often shocking truths about what we eat, how it’s produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.”

It is obvious that people want to change the way we are doing things. The Green Movement ย is no longer something we talked about in school as kids… it is happening here and now.

The Mayans predicted big change in 2012 and we are getting close. Buying locally grown, hand-picked food is a big step towards the sustainability & low impact that Mean Mr. Fallywalker feels this prophecy is all about. He appreciates every single Twisted ‘Stache order (even the “Just Once”-rs), because supporting his farm enables him to continue on that path. If he wasn’t so mean, it would make him smile. ๐Ÿ™‚
